We were up fairly early Sunday am, but still didn't leave the hotel until 10:30. We headed to Hoover Dam, but there was a flashing sign that said there were major delays on the bridge so we turned around and headed straight to CA.
The traffic into CA from Vegas was just plain hellish. It was supposed to be a 7 and a half hour trip. It took us 12 and a half. And we didn't make it to the see the Sequois. Needless to say we made it safe and sound and arrived at Ike's sister's house just north of San Jose around midnight Sunday night. Thankfully, Chi Mai had dinner for us so we ate and then crashed.
We spent Monday am doing laundry and trying to de-funk the van. It was getting a little ripe. We headed out around noon to make the 1+ hour drive north to see Ike's niece Marie at school at University of the Pacific in Stockton. We had lunch with Marie at a Vietnamese place, saw her apartment and the university, went to Jamba Juice (love it!) and then headed to San Francisco.
We say a Target and some cheap gas on the way and decided to stop. By the time we left there it was after 4 so we decided to do San Francisco Tuesday am on our way out of San Jose area and headed back to Chi Mai's.
When Anh Hong (our brother in law) got home from work we went to dinner at another Vietnamese restaurant in Milpitas (the town they live in). Awesome food! It was really nice to relax and hang out with them.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) we plan to head to San Francisco in the am and then head up to wine country and will make camp somewhere north of Napa/Sonoma tomorrow evening.
